God’s Open Door … or Not
A common proverb says, "We will regret in leisure the decisions that we made in haste." Making personal and leadership decisions should not be self-serving and simply about profit.
There are other dynamics that should provide the ability to make good decisions even when the Open Door seems to offer prosperity and great rewards.
Sin equals Missing the Mark
Sin is a thief that secretly and constantly robs people of the joy and benefits of their achievements in life. I see sin as equal to failure like small wounds that prevent us from full and robust victory. In fact, success and failure starts in the Heart, and if we make the foundation sure, the rest of our lives will propser.
From Knowledge to Wisdom
I asked my 3rd-grade teacher how to spell a word. She didn't offer me a simple solution for spelling it, but sent me to the large classroom dictionary and told me to "look it up". Wisdom is not available for the asking, but it is available in large supply ... if you want it.
The Spirit: Dead or Alive
Why didn't Adam and Eve die as God said would happen if they ate the forbidden fruit? We'll they died, but not physically. The faculty of the Spirit died leaving us to living in an unfriendly and sin-corrupted world.
The Seeds of Success
Instead of success that is focused on the quality and abundance of things in your life, perhaps it is better to view success from the end of life than at it zenith. God wants everyone to be successful, but your success should not be only about acquisitions and accumulations. Measure your life by the blessings you have brought to others as not an owner, but a steward of God's blessings given to you.
The Short-Sighted Do not See God’s Power
I believe that God is righteous and holy, which can be understood that He is always the victor in any turn of events. In simple language, God is a winner. For example, "that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth". That is victory, but now just concerning God, but all who follow His path ... even Job will emerge a winner after the worst year of his life.
The Elements of this World
The elements of this world can be understood as outward piety, penance, and mandatory conformity to religious practices. This is something that God actually hates. This is like a marriage where there is no love that seeks to serve the other. True religion, if there is such a thing, is a connection with the heart.
Modern Day Judiazers
Understanding the idea of grace as free-to-all gift is critical to the very concept of salvation. Our works at any level follow the reception of grace as an expression of our love in return. God will never owe anyone. He is not a debtor. He is 100% the giver of His kindness without consideration of our merit or failure in life.
Influences and Slavery
Your day to day decisions are influenced by the two controlling faculties of the Soul. The Spirit is the desire to sow seeds that honor God and mankind. The Flesh promotes the seeds that are selfish and self-serving. The promise is that we shall certainly reap what we sow in the years to come.
The Meta-World Influencers
The Matrix movie may be where the other side tipped their hand to reveal the rivalry of two great systems. One is an attractive fiction and the other is the freedom of live by faith.
Help Your Heart Help You
Imagine attending college to prepare for your chosen career and never reading the assigned books. We can anticipate that you will fail your courses and probably get kicked out of the school. To understand God and His operation, it is vital to read His book.
Perpetual Victory
While a pessimist sees everything through doubt, regret, and inability; a person of faith does not simply look within and take an inventory. A person of faith turns his attention to the resources he requires to move forward.
Defining the Principal Truth
The principle of truth is a fundamental concept that states truth is a standard for measuring up to reality or the way things are. The very idea of truth drives us to the One who made all things, governs all things, and established every aspect of creation.
The Gullible Heart
The unrestrained Heart, however, will skew in judgment because of “Desires, Wants, and Hopes” for things that may be little more than rotten fabric that will not hold up well over time. We then experience disappointment, regret, and defeat later in life.
