It is a great pleasure to recommend a mobile app that is perfect for anyone and everyone regardless of your schedule. The VerseLocker app is my personal choice for memorizing scripture.
I started out as a new Christian at eighteen with Navigator which sent out memorization cards that fit into your shirt pocket. They were very helpful. The idea is to cultivate the Heart of your Inner Man. Since the Heart is where faith is formed, it needs the raw commodity of God’s Truth. Regardless of whether we understand the process fully or not, reading and memorizing Scripture passages daily is the Master Class for spiritual growth.
Imagine going to college as you prepare for your chosen career in life, but never reading the assigned books. If you rarely or occasionally attended classes or read the assigned books, you would likely fail the courses and be forced to leave the school.
When you become, or wish to become, a Christian; it is a new endeavor that has some participation and learning requirements. Like any career, success will not come by “Winging it”. Scripture memorization is very helpful because because some impressive verses act as orientation when things are confusing. These verses emerge in moments that guide us through the tough times.
There are three ways to study the Bible:
1- Read your Bible daily; and if you’re new to the subject, stick with the New Testament at first,
2- Memorize key verses that seem to speak to you in a meaningful way, and
3- Mediate on a passage as a form of prayer to increase your understanding.
