Perpetual Victory
While a pessimist sees everything through doubt, regret, and inability; a person of faith does not simply look within and take an inventory. A person of faith turns his attention to the resources he requires to move forward. In II Corinthians 1:16 Paul recounts the many time he anticipated the worst possible outcome as he traveled through Asia. But what he found when he made the seemingly difficult mistake was that God took over when he couldn’t solve the problems that he might face.
In verse 16, he defined the process as, ”God leads us from place to place in ONE PERPETUAL VICTORY.” (Message Bible)
At the Principal Truth Institute, we teach that we do not live a charmed life where all problems melt like snow when the sun comes out. Instead, we live in the persistent promise that God is real, His power is infinite, His plan is meant for good, and He will show up at the best of all moments.
What many fail to realize is that a childlike approach is demanding a solution when we are afraid or uncomfortable. God has promised to show up when the conditions are ripe for a glorious victory.
Having played football in high school, it would have been great if the other side saw us bursting onto the field with blaring music as we boasted of our prowess. That would have been so easy! But, there is NO VICTORY without a contest with the opposition. That much should be obvious. What most people fail to appreciate is that the “Game isn’t over until the time runs out.”
