Where is the Spirit of Man Located?

Two faculties reside in man's Soul.  One is made active at birth, and the other is dormant until the second birth.  Only then are we truly connect to God.

To avoid confusion, take note that the “Spirit” in the Bible has two distinctions. The first “Spirit” is the Holy Spirit who is God manifest as our “Helper” and “Teacher”. The Holy Spirit’s mission is to carry the message of Jesus Christ as Savior to the world. The Holy Spirit can be resisted, rejected, and ignored so that His “influence” is by yielding to His direction and mission.

The second “spirit” is inside each human. In Romans 8:16 we are told that “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God.” The faculty of the Spirit is found in the Soul of the Inner Man. We have another fantastic clue in II Timothy 3:16 where the Word of God is illustrated as a sword able to divide the Spirit from the Soul. We can reasonably conclude that the Spirit resides in the Soul as one of several faculties of the Soul.

The Faculty of the Spirit is our vital connection to God and is necessary for anyone to truly connect with God.
